From code to a clear picture

Atlas works with the coding agent you already use. Your local maps need no sign-in.

  1. Give your agent the prompt

    Copy the Atlas prompt into the coding agent working in your repository. Choose its delivery mode and output folder when asked.

  2. Let the agent map the evidence

    It identifies components and connections from the repository, marks uncertainty, and produces an Atlas link or JSON. Atlas itself does not read or upload your source code.

  3. Open and explore the map

    Open the generated link, or import its JSON here. Select a component for details. Search jumps to components; Explore shows callers, dependencies and groups.

Components are the parts of your software. Connections describe how those parts interact. Local maps stay in this browser; cloud saving is an optional, separate choice.

Appearance

Save new maps to your account

When enabled, new local maps, local JSON imports, and maps opened from agent links are uploaded to your account. Imports started in Cloud Workspace go directly to your account regardless of this preference. This includes the map's name and details, component labels and notes, source paths, evidence, charts, connections, and saved positions. Atlas does not upload repository files.

Existing browser-local maps stay here until you choose to move one. A map created or imported while signed out stays local after you sign in; choose Move this map to my account to upload it. Turning this setting off affects future maps; maps already saved to your account continue to sync while you edit them.

Automatic saving is off.

Backups and recovery

Use Export > Download JSON to keep a portable copy of a map. Import that file in another browser to restore it. Browser-local maps are removed if you clear this site's browser data, so keep backups in a place you control.

Account maps are stored with your Atlas account and remain available when you sign in. Shared online links can be viewed by anyone who has the link, so share maps only with people who should see their contents.
